The script:

Mind Palace

  • 2,500 years old
  • Method of Loci
  • Shakespeare used this in the Globe Theatre
  • Creating imagery and placing them around the room to act as a prompt to recite your lines.
  • Brain triggers through colourful colours and doors. Cues to tell them what to say.
  • Can create them inside your own house - accessible
Attempting the technique

Examples
Hang - Rope    On - Light switch  Grown - Plant   It - Clown

Was it successful?
After trying out this line technique, I have come to the conclusion that it doesn't work for me. It caught my attention that I was focusing more on the imagery rather than learning my lines and got easily distracted. I can see why it is successful among other actors as its unique and personal to yourself, yet evidently not for me.

First letter
  • Write the first letter of each word - keep punctuation
  • Read the monologue one last time
  • Spend time look away to see how much you memories
Attempting the technique

Example
GUAFSOI?
O,TN.BABE,II?
MSMMTATITM.STOTT'COTT.
Y'NSTCI.

Was it successful?
I found this the most successful out of the 4. The active recall was really helpful and challenged my brain to think on the spot. I felt confident in myself that I knew the lines and it helped me make quick progress.

Voice recording
  • Recording the other persons lines and playing them back
  • Use voice memos on phone or record a video
Attempting the technique

Was it successful?

Lego tech
  • Speak your lines out loud - cognitive process
  • Cover the lines and see if they're correct
  • Walking and talking - Multitasking
Attempting the technique
I walked around the room whilst reciting the lines
